This workshop with Gigi Lacey will build on the first one, Management Committee Roles and Responsibilities, by looking at the main pieces of legislation applicable to an association and the role of the MC in ensuring compliance. Legislation to be considered includes:
Civil Liabilities Act
Fair Work Act – Including some of the recent changes such as the Right to Disconnect provisions
Discrimination legislation i.e.
Queensland Anti-discrimination Act
Commonwealth Racial Discrimination Act
Commonwealth Sex Discrimination Act – this will include the recent addition of a positive duty to prevent sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination
Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act
Commonwealth Age Discrimination Act
